Commander routes authorized operations from ChatGPT to a computer you pair: file work, terminal commands and process management.

How it works

ChatGPT → Commander → your computer.

The computer opens an outbound connection to the routing layer, so no inbound router port needs to be exposed.

The user explicitly links a computer to their Commander account.

The operation runs under the normal Windows user permissions.

The result returns to the conversation so the workflow can continue.

Security model

User identity: MCP requests are bound to the authenticated user; owner identity is not trusted from client input.
Pairing & revocation: Each device has its own token that can be revoked and disconnected.
OS permissions: The agent runs with the user’s Windows account permissions, not as SYSTEM.
Explicit device routing: With multiple computers online, Commander does not guess the target device.

Release status

Verified E2E: Cloud MCP → relay → LaptopAI → local files and processes has been tested end to end.
Public access: Commander is not yet publicly available in the ChatGPT directory. We do not claim install availability before approval.
